The Homeboy Recycling Process

The Paul Mitchell x Homeboy Electronics Recycling mail in recycling program provides a convenient way to responsibly recycle your hair styling tools from the comfort of your home. Once packages are received, the Homeboy team begins the certified recycling process:

Each tool is separated from its cord in order to recover any valuable copper material.
The tools then get shredded into tiny pieces, which are mechanically separated by plastics, circuit boards and other precious metals.
These commodities are eventually turned into usable pellets that are remanufactured into new products.

In addition to keeping e-waste out of our landfills, each mail in box also supports the Homeboy social mission of creating quality high value job opportunities for people facing systemic barriers to employment, helping them build transferable skills that are needed in the information economy.
